Fire Chief Derrick Ruether appeared at the April 23 council meeting to request permission to pursue purchase of a new utility task vehicle (UTV) and to sell two older ATVs to help fund the purchase. Ruether said proceeds from ATV sales plus funds raised at a recent department steak fry would be applied toward the UTV acquisition.
Councilmember Susan Cram moved to allow the fire department to begin advertising the two ATVs for sale; Councilmember Diana Fliss seconded. The motion carried with all members present voting in favor.
The transcript does not record a purchase contract, price estimate for the UTV, or a final financing amount; council action at the meeting authorized only the advertisement of the ATVs for sale so the department can raise funds toward the planned UTV purchase.
