The Reinbeck City Council on March 2 gave first consideration to Ordinance #2026-03OR, an ordinance adding provisions for Chapter 124 to govern mobile food service vendors in the city. Mayor Jamie Eiffler introduced the ordinance and councilmember Trepp moved for first consideration; the motion passed on a 5-0 voice vote.
Council and staff discussed that the ordinance will establish basic regulatory provisions for mobile vendors and that any fee schedule for vendors will be determined separately by resolution after the ordinance is formally adopted. The council closed the public hearing on the ordinance at 6:06 p.m. before taking the first-reading motion.
The council set the second reading and public consideration for April 6, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. If adopted on second reading, the ordinance will add the city’s new mobile food service regulations and the council intends to adopt fees by subsequent resolution.
