No members of the public requested to testify during the hearing. Councilor Kealy moved to close the hearing; the motion was supported and carried unanimously. The council later continued with the rest of its agenda, with staff indicating a final budget and levy would be proposed later in the meeting.
The hearing fulfilled Minnesota’s Truth-in-Taxation requirement that local taxing authorities hold a public session for comment on proposed property tax levies. Because no substantive public input was received at this session, the council proceeded to consider routine business and budget actions during the meeting’s remainder.
