Residents raise noise concerns about Hursh Iron Works; council follows Taylor's Falls planning review; SIRT trail segment discussed

During old-business discussion on Nov. 4, residents and council members raised concerns about intrusive noise attributed to Hursh Iron Works. Council Members Sally Swanson and Lloyd Vetter reported attending a Taylor's Falls Planning Commission meeting on Oct. 27 and said they will attend the next meeting on Nov. 10 to follow Hursh’s plans. City Attorney Ted Alliegro told the council that Hursh had requested a phone conference with the mayor and the city attorney.
Resident Mark Baumann cited “§92.1 SA” as a possible noise violation in the minutes; resident Cass Sweeno also commented on intrusive noise. The minutes record these concerns but do not show a formal enforcement action or a council directive to initiate a code enforcement process at this meeting.
Separately, the minutes record a virtual meeting with Chisago County, Center City Public Works, and engineers for the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail (SIRT) about the trail section along Highway 8; the Center City engineer will be asked to review engineering details. The council did not take formal action on either item at the Nov. 4 meeting and planned to continue tracking both matters.
