Rice Lake Area School District trustees voted to approve the district’s Academic and Career Plan (ACP) after district staff demonstrated a consolidated ACP/E4E webpage required under Wisconsin law.
Presenters highlighted three district goals posted on the page: strengthen connections between students and local opportunities, respond to student interest and needs, and align programming with evolving workforce needs. Staff noted the district extends ACP activities down to kindergarten through counselor scope and sequence work and described career‑pathway resources, industry‑recognized credentials, youth apprenticeship outcomes and additional postsecondary readiness supports.
The district uses Zello as its ACP software. Staff said counselors regularly work with students in Zello and that state procurement selected Zello as a vendor; the district plans staff training on platform enhancements later this year. A board member requested a dedicated demonstration of Zello for trustees; staff said a Zello representative will present during an in‑service session and that trustees would be welcome to attend.
After the demonstration a board member moved and the board approved the ACP plan by voice vote. The approval will allow the district to publish required materials and continue ACP implementation through the summer and fall.
