Council approves $44,253 lift‑station rehab after emergency pump failures

"If we have the funds for it and it's something that we need and it'll be kind of a cost saver, we just do it now rather than kicking it down the road," a councilor said in discussion.
Councilors approved the purchase of the full rehab to reduce the risk of repeated emergency responses and longer‑term expense. Staff said funds are available in the infrastructure budget but noted doing the work now slightly increases risk to other contingency balances if additional main breaks occur before year‑end.
The purchase was approved and Quality Flow will be scheduled to perform the rebuild; temporary pumps will remain in place until the contractor completes the rehab.
