Board approves routine items: safety audit, OnRamps MOU, Central Counties MOU, policy updates and library purchases

At its meeting the Gatesville ISD Board approved a set of routine but consequential items that staff presented for board action.

Safety audit: Staff summarized a mandatory 31‑page three‑year safety and security audit and presented a two‑page summary with six review categories (law enforcement coordination, security, emergency management planning, bullying prevention, behavior threat assessment and related items). The presenter said the district was compliant and noted a few documentation items to improve. The board approved the audit for submission to the state.

UT OnRamps MOU: The board approved the annual interlocal agreement with the University of Texas OnRamps program to continue dual enrollment opportunities; staff projected about 70 participating students next year and said there were no substantive changes to the agreement.

Central Counties MOU: The board renewed a memorandum of understanding with Central Counties (formerly MHMR) to continue referral and mental‑health support services for students; staff cited ongoing summer mental‑health needs and after‑hours responses.

Policy and library purchases: Per TASB Legal updates, the board adopted recommended policy replacements, additions and deletions to align district policy with recent legislation. Separately, the board approved elementary and intermediate library materials that had completed a 30‑day public posting period; staff reported no challenges had been filed.
