Phippsburg board approves warrants, announces licenses, event dates and ash-tree treatments

Phippsburg — The Phippsburg Select Board on June 24 approved payroll and accounts-payable warrants and shared several community announcements including license deadlines, event dates and a recent tree treatment.
Chair presented payroll warrant number 111 for signature; a member said, "I'm gonna abstain," and the board recorded the payroll warrant as signed with one abstention. The board then moved and approved accounts-payable warrant number 112 and the meeting minutes from June 17, 2026.
Staff told the board that election results from June 9 and the annual town report are available on the town website and at town hall. Staff reminded residents that commercial shellfish licenses are on sale through June 30 and that town hall will close at noon on June 30 for fiscal-year closing.
Staff also announced hazardous-waste and shredding day scheduled for July 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the sand/salt shed (52 Sanday Hill Road); attendees must show a town sticker. The board reported that the Maine Forest Service treated about 12 ash trees at Taubman Preserve for emerald ash borer; treated trees were tagged and residents were asked not to disturb them. The board adjourned the meeting shortly after these items. Staff will carry out routine follow-ups on the warrants and event planning as needed.
