Council approves hire of Public Works worker; multiple personnel hires proposed
Summary
After going into executive session, the council returned with proposed personnel actions including continued employment and several hires. At the end of the workshop the council entered executive session. On returning, a council member moved to approve a package of personnel actions: continued employment for Mike Bingler following a six‑month probation in the police department; elevation of Thomas Davis from part time to full time in police; the hire of Reese Paris in Public Works; the hire of Sonia Jenkins as an accountant; and hire of Kelly McDaris as a part‑time records/court custodian. A separate motion to hire Andrew McDarris in the Public Works department was made, received a second, and was put to a vote. One council member abstained because she is the student’s work‑based learning coordinator and supervises him through the end of the school year. The motion to hire Andrew McDarris passed by voice vote with one abstention. The mayor then adjourned the meeting.
