Commission approves $123,120 contract for water-treatment-plant switchgear upgrade

Johnny presented the recommendation and proposed that the commission authorize a contract to Industrial Power Solutions in the amount of $123,120 and authorize the mayor to sign any related documents. “My proposed action is that you would approve that we move forward and recommend that the water treatment plant substation rehabilitation project in the amount of $123,120 to Industrial Power Solutions, and authorize the mayor to sign any and all documentation,” Johnny said.
Commissioner Bush moved to award the contract; Commissioner Powell seconded. The commission voted in favor and the motion carried. Staff said Industrial Power Solutions will proceed with installation under the city's procurement and contracting procedures.
The commission did not discuss additional funding sources during the award but approved the contract based on the bid review and engineering recommendation. The motion and award were recorded in the meeting minutes.
