Board members reviewed details of the CTE assistant-principal (CTE administrator/assistant principal) posting for Preston High School. Administration said the position was posted for a total of seven business days (about 12–13 calendar days including weekends) and that the posting would close at midnight the night of the meeting. "It closes tonight at midnight. So after tonight at midnight, we will review all candidates and then make the decision from who all bids," Superintendent Martin said.
Administration described the planned selection matrix, suggested interview team (including the building principal, district directors and CTE advisory membership) and said staff solicited input from CTE staff on interview questions and desired candidate traits. Board members asked about the minimum requirement of three years of successful administrative experience in the posting and whether the district could hire from a smaller pool if fewer than three candidates met that requirement. Counsel and administration said the district could either repost the position or consider the existing applicant pool if fewer than three applicants met the posted experience requirement; if three or more candidates meet the requirement, the district must advance from that eligible pool.
Administration indicated the board could act on the personnel agenda as early as the July 6 meeting (the organizational meeting) if timing and internal candidates aligned; otherwise the item would appear at the July 13 meeting.
No candidate selections were made at the June 22 meeting.
