Denton trustees elect Joe Hobelman chair; Ryan Osborn sworn in

The Village of Denton Board of Trustees reorganized its leadership and made key appointments at its regular meeting Dec. 2 at the Denton Community Center.
Joe Hobelman was elected board chair by private ballot after nominations from Trustee Trent Wheatley (who nominated Hobelman) and Trustee Doug Rosekrans (who nominated Amanda Fangmeier). The clerk, Charlotte Te Brink, reported Hobelman received three votes to Fangmeier’s two; Hobelman will hold the chair seat for two years. The clerk had been appointed chair pro tem earlier in the reorganization process.
Trustee Ryan Osborn took the oath of office at the meeting. The board then confirmed several municipal appointments for 2025, including Maureen Freeman‑Cady as village attorney, Justin Stark as street superintendent (Class A S‑1534), Ross Blackledge as water/sewer commissioner, Amanda Fangmeier as emergency management coordinator, Joe Hobelman as floodplain administrator, and Charlotte Te Brink as clerk‑treasurer‑zoning administrator.
Those actions were approved by motion and recorded in the official minutes. The board did not take other organizational votes at the meeting.
