Denton trustees approve $17,250 sewer-lining contract, annual certification and two liquor-license renewals

The Village of Denton Board of Trustees approved several administrative and public-works actions at its Aug. 5, 2024 meeting at the Denton Community Center.
Trustee John Juricek moved to adopt Resolution 24-8-1, the municipal annual certification; Trustee Amanda Fangmeier seconded and the motion carried. The board also introduced Ordinance 24-8-1 (NE Basic Code) and unanimously approved a motion to waive the state statutory three-reading requirement so the ordinance could proceed after its first reading.
During a short public hearing on automatic renewals of Class C liquor licenses, which the board opened at 6:52 p.m. and closed at 6:53 p.m., the trustees voted to approve renewals for Denton Daily Double and the Denton American Legion; the approvals were recorded as unanimous.
On public-works business, Trustee John Juricek moved and Trustee Amanda Fangmeier seconded approval of a bid from Johnson Service Company to install a 6-inch CIPP liner in the village sewer system. The board approved the bid in the amount of $17,250.00.
Finally, the board approved Claims List A totaling $65,596.12, Claims List B totaling $4,412.34, and June payroll of $9,865.05 by motion; those motions carried. The meeting was declared adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
