The Milwaukie Planning Commission recognized Commissioner Joseph Edge at his final meeting after roughly eight years of service. Staff presented a certificate and recounted highlights of Edge’s tenure, including work on the comprehensive plan, middle housing and tree-code updates, downtown design-review work, and multiple land-use reviews that moved from hearings to construction.
Vera (city staff) provided a timeline of Edge’s appointment (February 6, 2018), noted he participated in approximately 130 planning commission meetings and credited his commitment to transparent, facts-based deliberation. Commissioners and staff praised Edge’s mentorship to newer members and his efforts on complex code and plan work.
Edge said he was proud of projects that reached construction and emphasized that virtual participation broadened access to public service. He encouraged continued work on high-density residential code and housing supply challenges.
Colleagues and staff thanked Edge for his service; the commission adjourned following brief announcements about upcoming hearings and events.
