Hugo council approves consent agenda, including preliminary 2026 tax levy and personnel actions

City staff member Brian summarized the items for the record. Among the approvals he listed were performance reviews for Building Official Joel Hoisted and City Clerk Michelle Lindau; a six-month performance review and removal of probationary status for public works employee Madison Siebenaler; and acceptance of the resignation of firefighter Kyle Anderson from the Hugo Fire Department. The council also approved purchase of a replacement SCBA fill station for the Hugo Fire Department and purchase of park signs for locations around the city.
The council approved the 2026 preliminary tax levy as presented. Staff also approved a special event permit for the Hugo American Legion�s Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 4; pay request number two to Northwest Asphalt for beaver ponds and the 2025 street improvement projects; and the naming of Prairie Park in the Oneka Prairie development.
The mayor declared the consent agenda approved after a motion and second; no separate discussion was recorded on the individual consent items.
