Sigourney council authorizes posting ordinances on new city website

City Clerk Ashley Fry told the Sigourney City Council on Feb. 19 that the city’s new website, developed by HM Consulting, is nearly ready and that staff would provide ordinance text to Humphrey Mwangi of HM Consulting, LLC so ordinance pages can be posted. Fry said the site looks “very nice” and expected that once the ordinance is provided it should take a couple of weeks to go live.
Councilmember Iosbaker moved to approve giving the ordinance to the website vendor; Councilmember Lentz seconded the motion and the council voted Ayes: Conrad, McLaughlin, Iosbaker, Lentz and Schultz. The council did not record further conditions in the minutes about posting timelines or review process beyond the city clerk’s description.
The website posting is an administrative step intended to improve public access to ordinances once the vendor completes the site build.
