Supporters of Top Green cited a fixed weekly price and the company’s ability to handle mowing and cleaning tasks promptly. Councilor Margaret (Mayor Ford) and several colleagues said they favored a reliable weekly service to avoid the inconsistent mowing that had produced long grass complaints earlier in the season.
Under the approved arrangement, Top Green will perform mowing, trimming and blowoff for the primary parks (including Tai Schmidt) at the quoted per-cut rates; council approved moving forward with Top Green for the immediate summer season and directed the Parks committee to monitor quality and adjust or seek other bids next season if necessary.
