Selectmen approve small harbor purchases, pier terms and note DEP transfer-station inspection

The Selectmen approved several harbor and transfer-station related items across the recorded meetings. On Dec. 19 the board voted 4-0 to purchase a safety pump for the harbor for $600 and approved pier terms and conditions for the 2023 season (motion by Richard Larrabee Sr.; vote 4-0). Harbor Committee items, mooring and skiff lottery policy rules were discussed across multiple meetings as the board weighed harbor access and seasonal allocations.
TM Billings reported a surprise DEP inspection of the transfer station that produced a positive preliminary report on handling of piles and burn and ash procedures; the town expected the formal report to arrive soon. The board also discussed ongoing PERC bypass costs for waste hauling and equipment delays that have increased wait fees.
The Selectmen directed TM and harbor committee members to continue refining mooring and skiff policies and to present any recommended ordinance language or fee schedules to the board for public hearings.
