Sigourney approves 12 pool hires and sets 2025 rates; 'mommy and me' class dropped

The Sigourney City Council on Feb. 6 approved hiring 12 applicants for manager and lifeguard positions at the municipal pool and adopted the pool fee schedule for 2025.
Park and Recreation reported receiving 12 applications and recommended hiring all applicants to staff the 2025 season. The council adopted Resolution #2025-02-02 to approve pool personnel; the motion was moved by Council member McLaughlin and seconded by Council member Clark, and passed by roll call.
The council also approved Resolution #2025-02-01 establishing the 2025 pool rates and program information. Officials noted there will be no rate increases for the season and that the "mommy and me" instructional class will not be offered this year.
Parks staff will proceed with onboarding and scheduling the hired personnel and will publish the pool schedule and rates in advance of the summer season.
