As of the report, staff had planned for 1,973 morning riders and 2,187 afternoon riders before kindergarten and other late enrollments are added; that planning yielded 104 total routes (51 morning, 1 midday, 52 afternoon). Mr. Ashley said the district typically finalizes summer‑school routes a week or two before summer school starts and continues adjustments through the first two weeks.
On staffing, Mr. Ashley said there are three currently unassigned routes, one driver expected to return to town in July, and six driver candidates currently in training. Staff also said they seek additional bus monitors and will continue recruitment; the district emphasized the importance of families keeping app registrations current so routing and communications work effectively.
No formal action was required; the update will guide summer routing work and recruitment efforts.
