Library renovation consultant hired; city will request county repaint crosswalk and approve door repair

The renovation plan discussed included relocating a floor-heat thermostat and some electrical switches, enlarging a single restroom to improve ADA accessibility, and the consultant’s plan to subcontract electrical and plumbing work.
Separately, library representatives asked the council to request county action to repaint a crosswalk at the intersection of Summit and First (a county road). Council members agreed staff should verify the existing markings and, if needed, send a formal request to the county to refresh the crosswalk paint.
On a facilities maintenance item, staff reported that Clarity Glass inspected a crooked door at City Hall and was given authorization to install a piano hinge to repair the problem; Clarity will also provide a quote for a full door replacement if further work is required.
