Commission approves consolidation of five lots in Velasco Townsite into lot 1A

Staff presented the application on behalf of applicant Olivia Polafox Cruz, confirming that required application materials and tax certificates had been submitted and that the replat would not change zoning or increase residential density. The proposed lot is located at the intersection of North Avenue F and First Street, and staff recommended approval subject to standard recording and subdivision requirements.
During discussion a commissioner asked about the motivation for consolidating the lots; staff said they had not spoken with the applicant and did not know whether the intent was renovation or demolition and new construction. The commission closed the public hearing, moved to approve, and the motion passed unanimously (motion by Mr. Hayes, second by Mr. Bachmann).
Staff noted there is no anticipated negative financial impact to the city and that the approval is conditioned on compliance with City of Freeport ordinances and recording procedures.
