At its March 12 meeting the Villisca Community School Board completed routine business and approved multiple contracts and agreements by unanimous vote. Early in the meeting the board approved the consent items, which included the February 2026 minutes and the bills presented for payment. The board then approved the February financial report and ordered it filed for audit.
Later motions approved certified staff contracts for the 2026-2027 school year and an AEA Purchasing Agreement for 2026-2027. Directors also approved participation in the local government risk pool for 2026-2027 and renewed a Preventative Maintenance Contract with Jones Mechanical. The board voted to approve Counselor, Transportation Director, Maintenance Director, Superintendent, and Human Resource Director sharing agreements with Corning for the 2026-2027 school year.
The board approved an audit proposal from Nolte, Cornman & Johnson, P.C. to conduct audits for 2027, 2028, and 2029. The board also moved to publish a notice of a school board vacancy and appointed Director Mullen to the Montgomery County Conference Board for the 2025-2026 year. All motions in these items were carried unanimously, and the meeting adjourned at 7:54 p.m.
