The Villisca Community School Board unanimously accepted two resignations and approved an open-enrollment request at its Feb. 12 meeting.
The board accepted the resignation of Principal Liz Timmerman; the motion to approve her resignation, made by Director Mullen and seconded by Director Shipley, was recorded "with many years of appreciation and deep regret" and carried unanimously. The board also accepted the resignation of Connie Sexton from her positions as Success Center coordinator and as coach for junior-high volleyball, girls basketball, track and softball. That motion was made by Director Mullen and seconded by Director Williams and was approved unanimously.
Director Williams moved and Director Gourley seconded approval of one student's open enrollment out to Stanton for the 2025–2026 school year; the board approved the request unanimously. The minutes do not name the student.
The board instructed Human Resources and administration to begin the processes associated with staffing changes, including posting vacancies and starting a search for a new principal. No timeline or interim leadership arrangements were specified in the minutes.
