Resident urges caution after well tests; township notes DEP jurisdiction and sewer-connection limits

At the July 23 meeting Jennifer Wright (400 Three Mile Run Road) told the board she had copies of Perkasie Regional Authority well test results and said well #5 should be shut down. Wright repeated the request during the second public comment period and advised residents not to drink Perkasie Regional Authority water. Chair Dave Nyman replied that the township has no jurisdiction over the Perkasie Regional Authority and that the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection oversees water utilities.
During public comment, Tina O’Rourke (1819 Old Bethlehem Pike) asked for the status of public sewer on Old Bethlehem Pike. The minutes record that the Department of Environmental Protection’s final response will not allow public sewer connection until the Park Hill Estates development has been dedicated.
Township staff noted survey work on private property is required for the Stone Edge culvert design; no enforcement action or directive to the Perkasie Regional Authority was recorded during the meeting. The board did not take formal action on Wright’s well-related concerns and identified DEP as the appropriate oversight agency for water-supply issues.
The meeting record does not resolve the safety claim about well #5; residents were advised to follow DEP guidance and the township’s communications for further updates.
