Starmont board appoints Doug Puffett, elects Julie Uhlenkamp president and Tony Recker vice president

The Starmont Community School District board appointed Doug Puffett to the board and administered his oath of office at the district’s Dec. 9 annual meeting. The appointment followed a motion by Jacob Moellers and a second from Julie Uhlenkamp; the motion carried 4-0.
At the subsequent organization meeting, the board elected Julie Uhlenkamp as board president. Vicki Althoff nominated Uhlenkamp and Tony Recker seconded; Uhlenkamp abstained from voting for herself and the motion was recorded as carried. Uhlenkamp then nominated Tony Recker for vice president; Jacob Moellers seconded. Recker abstained from voting for himself and the motion carried.
The board made several representative and committee appointments by unanimous votes. Julie Uhlenkamp was named the IASB Legislative Area Network representative; Vicki Althoff was approved as IASB Delegate Assembly representative for November 2025. County conference board representatives were appointed with Jacob Moellers representing Fayette County, Doug Puffett for Clayton County and Vicki Althoff for Delaware County. Tony Recker was named the Dollars for Scholars representative. The board also appointed Doug Puffett and Jacob Moellers to the district Negotiations Committee.
The board approved Ahlers & Cooney as the district’s general legal counsel. All of the officer and representative appointments noted above were carried by recorded motions and seconding actions during the organization meeting.
The board set its regular meeting schedule to the second Monday of each month at 6:30 PM in the high school conference room and administered oaths of office where applicable. The next regular meeting will follow that schedule unless the board posts an alternate date.
