The council also presented commendations to local nonprofits including Nationwide Youth Outreach and Athletics (recognized for mentoring and literacy initiatives) and Women Impacting Neighborhoods (noted for programs serving young women and transitional supports). Officials urged recipients to volunteer in the future and thanked nonprofit partners for their community work.
The presentations were ceremonial; there was no formal council action tied to scholarships in the meeting minutes beyond recognition and encouragement to participate in city volunteer opportunities.
