Staff said the center will operate by appointment and that most repair work will occur indoors; the applicant plans to use some interior space for vehicle storage and service, which staff said further mitigates on-site parking demand.
After brief presentation and no public comment, council members approved the variance by roll call. Staff noted an additional 26 interior parking spaces are shown on the site plan and reiterated that the appointment-only model reduces peak parking demand compared with typical collision centers.
The variance applies to the parking requirement only; any building permits, design details and operational conditions will be handled through the city's standard permitting process.
