The Humboldt Community School District Board of Education on Aug. 18 approved a $1,075,000 increase to the high school auditorium project budget following a presentation from Joel Armitage of Sande Construction.
President Tate Satern called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m., and Board member Davis moved, with Board member Mertz seconding, to approve the budget increase; the motion carried unanimously. Joel Armitage had discussed the auditorium project timeline with the board and left the meeting at about 5:43 p.m.
Superintendent Jim Murray later included the auditorium project among several facilities updates he provided to the board, which also covered the middle school playground and other campus work. The board did not specify funding sources for the increase in the public minutes recorded in the meeting transcript.
Board action modifies the project budget and authorizes staff to proceed under the amended financial authorization; the transcript does not record additional contract details, contingency allocations or an updated project completion date.
The board continued with its agenda after the vote and adjourned the meeting at 6:23 p.m.
