The Olivia City Council approved a purchase to replace a public works dump truck, authorizing staff to use Capital Improvement Plan funds to acquire a 2024 model reported at about $51,273.86.
Staff told the council the city had budgeted $50,000 in the CIP for the pickup and proposed retaining at least $5,000 in the CIP to preserve the replacement schedule for the next vehicle. Staff estimated the replacement could be delivered in three to four weeks if the council approved moving forward.
Council voted to approve the replacement purchase; the motion was recorded as carried. The purchase was presented as a routine CIP transaction and no additional budget appropriation beyond the CIP balance was approved at the meeting.
