The Livingston Zoning Board of Adjustment approved a revised two‑story rear addition at 106 Kimball Avenue on June 23 after the project team reduced the size of the addition and corrected a bulk schedule error.
Michael Doster, the architect for owners Jaken and Deepti Takalapalli, told the board the redesign trimmed each floor of the addition from 219 square feet to 155 square feet and reduced the rear‑yard encroachment. "Under this revised plan, we're now proposing a rear yard setback of 31.2," Doster said, noting the change reduced the variance by about 3.5 feet and eliminated several previously requested variances. He also acknowledged a typo on the submitted bulk schedule and said the corrected figure would be submitted as Exhibit A1.
Board members accepted Doster as an expert and asked that the corrected plans be provided to Planning Administrator Jackie Hollis. After brief questions to confirm the corrected setback, a board member moved to approve the application subject to distribution of the revised plans (Exhibit A1); the motion was seconded and carried on a unanimous roll call vote.
The approval was conditioned on submission of revised engineering and architectural plans consistent with Doster’s testimony and the marked Exhibit A1. The board recorded the vote and closed the item.
The decision is administrative; parties have a 45‑day right to appeal to the Superior Court of New Jersey.
