On Sept. 3 the Taunton School Committee moved into executive session to discuss collective bargaining with the Taunton Educators Association, the Taunton Therapy Assistants Association and negotiations with the superintendent pursuant to Exemption 3 (General Laws Chapter 30A §21a(3)). The committee voted unanimously to enter executive session on a roll call vote.
After reconvening in open session, the committee reported that it had extended the Taunton Educators Association contract according to the subcommittee’s agreed conditions. The extension was approved on a roll-call vote with the recorded votes: Mrs. Chaves, yes; Mr. Pawlowski, yes; Mrs. Fagan, yes; Ms. Santos, yes; Mr. Vieira, yes; Mr. Loura, yes; Dr. DeMelo, yes. Mr. Enos was absent from that vote.
The committee also approved an extension of the Taunton Therapy Assistants Association contract according to subcommittee conditions on a roll-call vote that recorded the same yes votes and the same recorded absence. Dr. DeMelo reported that superintendent contract negotiations remain ongoing; no action on the superintendent contract was reported.
