Members discussed timeframes; Schneider said the study could be completed within roughly six months but the overall project could run a year or up to two years depending on design and procurement.
The appropriation was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the item will be forwarded to the Representative Town Meeting for final authorization and subsequent steps for engineering procurement.
Next steps include engaging an engineer to perform a needs assessment with police staff and deliver a preliminary cost estimate for board review.
