Lake City — The Lake City Council on Feb. 17 tabled action on construction plans for the Mid‑American Rural Broadband project and asked staff to obtain an engineering review before returning the plans for approval.
Public Works Director Janssen presented recommendations on the project’s modified plans and asked that those recommendations be forwarded to the project engineering firm. Council directed that City Engineer Sturm review the modified plans. Councilperson Daniel moved to table the plans until that review is completed; Councilperson Wilson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The council did not approve final plans or authorize construction at the meeting; instead, it required a technical review by the city’s engineer before formal approval could proceed. No formal schedule for the review was provided during the meeting.
