Lake City to review Community Building rental rates in July; approves Citizen Award designs and banner prints

Councilmembers reviewed Community Building use and pricing information with Community Building Manager Hannah Streeter-Halvorsen and members of the Community Building Advisory Committee during the Jan. 6 meeting. The council commended the manager's work and agreed to a formal review of Community Building rental rates in July 2025.
Council approved selected designs for a Lake City Citizen Award and directed the City Administrator to prepare a public-information article explaining the award’s purpose and how to nominate someone. The council also supported three banner designs and instructed the City Administrator to have banners printed to scale and ready for the next council meeting.
Council asked the City Administrator to obtain an updated five-year plan for the Community Building from the Advisory Board and to make nomination forms available "up front" at city facilities. No pricing changes were adopted at the Jan. 6 meeting; the review in July will be the next formal discussion point.
