Danvers Council on Aging schedules by-laws review and reports heavy sign-up for AANE trip and AARP tax help

The Town of Danvers Council on Aging at its Jan. 16 meeting asked members to review the DCOA by-laws, which were last reviewed in November 2015, and bring suggested edits for consideration at the board's Feb. 19 meeting.
Matthew Mitchell provided copies of the existing by-laws and asked the board to submit suggested language updates for the February packet. The board agreed to review the document.
Mitchell also reported unusually high interest in two upcoming programs: the All Around New England (AANE) trip and AARP tax-assistance. He said each program received more than 100 telephone calls within an hour of registration opening. Because parking at the AANE event is limited, Mitchell asked board members to promote carpooling; overflow parking will be available on the gravel lot by the soccer field and a robocall reminder will be sent the week before the event.
The board recorded these items as directions for follow-up rather than formal votes; by-laws edits will be discussed at the Feb. 19 meeting.
