Personnel actions approved under the consent agenda included a contract for Tiffany Weyrauch (MS associate) and accepted early-retirement notifications from Janet Tidman, Jacki Nachazel, Michael Moehlman and Danae Ites. The board also accepted the resignation of Carter Arends (MS baseball coach). Open-enrollment approvals were granted for Nayleigh Vanderpool (from Clarion-Goldfield-Dows) and Jackson, Summer and Nevaeh Davis (from Eldora-New Providence). Contract items listed in the consent agenda included a memorandum of understanding with Luther College for field experience/student teaching and special-education contracts with AGWSR, Alden, Cedar Falls, Hampton-Dumont, Marshalltown, Waverly-Shell Rock and Webster City.
Separately, the board approved a new Background Check Policy (motion by Moore, seconded by Stauffer) that the minutes say outlines National Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) handling, information-security policies and procedures for proper access, use and dissemination of criminal-history information. The motion carried 5-0.
The meeting closed after the principal's report and a motion to adjourn (motion by Parker, seconded by Robison), which also passed 5-0. The board scheduled a joint school board meeting for Feb. 10, 2025, where some of these items (including calendar options) will be reviewed.
