Iowa Falls board approves SBRC applications, selects three-year auditor and adopts policy updates

At its Nov. 11 meeting the Iowa Falls Board of Education approved SBRC applications, awarded a three-year audit contract and finalized several policy changes.
The board approved an SBRC application for $1,743.34 for special-education administrative costs tied to the LIED Center Consortium and another SBRC application for $4,459.17 tied to the Rivers Hills Consortium for the 2025–26 school year. Motion by Moore and motion by Parker for the two SBRC items each carried 4-0.
The board also approved a three-year audit proposal to Nolte, Cornman, & Johnson P.C. for FY25–FY27; the minutes record that 11 RFPs were sent and this was the only bid received. Additionally, the board approved a Physical Education Offer and Teach waiver and waived first reading to approve the final reading of Board Policy #407.6 (Early Retirement). It also approved final reading of Board Policy #502.10 (Use of Motor Vehicles), #603.01 (Basic Instruction Program) and #700 (Purpose of Noninstructional & Business Services), noting minor changes from guidance provided by IASB. All motions carried 4-0.
The board did not record public comment on these items. The approvals authorize staff to file the SBRC applications and to execute the auditor contract and policy updates as recorded in the minutes.
