Pedro Calderon, who identified himself as a district representative for Congresswoman Ashley Hinson's Dubuque office, addressed the Independence City Council during public comment and offered the congresswoman’s office as a resource for residents with federal‑agency issues.
Calderon said his role is to be "the eyes and ears of the congresswoman" at the local level, and he invited the council and residents to refer constituent matters—such as IRS issues, passport matters handled by the State Department, and VA questions—to the district office. He also distributed business cards and said he would attend city and county meetings quarterly and upon invitation.
Mayor (S1) and council members thanked Calderon for attending and asked him to convey appreciation to the congresswoman for community funding efforts.
