Trustee Loretta J. Teets told the Village of Stone Park Board of Trustees at its Dec. 9 meeting that two bids were received for sidewalk and curb work at 1649–1651 N. Mannheim Road — Fortis for $12,500 and AJD Concrete for $13,691.50 — and that AJD’s proposal included required curb removal and replacement.
Teets said the Board previously voted on Nov. 19 to approve AJD’s proposal and that a motion would be presented at this meeting to ratify that earlier approval. The minutes note the Nov. 19 approval but do not record a ratification vote in these minutes.
Teets also presented IMEG’s recommendation for pay request No. 1 from Chicagoland Paving Contractors, Inc., totaling $439,920.75 for alley improvements covering the 1700 blocks of 38th and 39th Avenues and the 1600–1800 blocks of 40th Avenue between Mannheim/Division and North Avenue. Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla said this expense is part of a grant-funded project and “the Village will receive reimbursement from Cook County.”
Separately, Teets reviewed Vision Construction & Consulting’s Invoice 4042 for $45,000 for electrical upgrades at the Cultural Center, noting this represents the second half of a payment for work the Board first approved on Sept. 23, 2025. The invoice and the paving pay request were presented for Board consideration; the minutes record presentation and context but do not show final action on those items in these minutes.
Teets also brought forward pavilion-repair bids and a small glass quote: two roof bids — Armorshield ($64,250) and Presidential Roofing & Construction, Inc. ($69,200) — and Chamorro Champion Glass Inc. Quote #10147 in the amount of $2,000 to install two restroom windows in the Pavilion. Teets said approval for those items would be requested at the Board meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m. after a unanimous motion to adjourn by Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez, seconded by Trustee Loretta J. Teets.
What’s next: The minutes record presentations and recommendations; several items were flagged for action (contract ratification, pay-request approval, Cultural Center invoice, pavilion work) but the published minutes do not show final approvals for all items. Follow-up or the meeting record of votes will be needed to confirm outcomes.
