The Laurens City Council voted 4–1 on March 31 to move forward with McCartan Insurance Agency for the city’s EMC insurance renewal effective April 1, 2025. Mayor Pro Tem John Jamison called the special session to order at 12:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building.
Council member Loren Booth moved to approve proceeding with McCartan Insurance Agency for the 4/1/25 EMC insurance renewal. Council member Aaron Christenson seconded the motion. Council members Hannah Zylstra, Loren Booth, Aaron Christenson and Mayor Pro Tem John Jamison voted aye; Council member Jean Swanson voted nay. The motion carried.
