Topeka council approves multiple fire-department purchases; president abstains from votes

Stewart Bender (Town Manager/Fire Chief) presented the procurement quotes: side intake valves were awarded to Elkhart Brass for $5,382 plus shipping; mobile data software was approved for $4,189.47; MES helmets were approved for $6,888; and Macqueen boots were approved for $14,175. Each motion to approve was seconded and recorded as adopted. The record notes President Adam Lambright abstained on the votes for these items.
Council members moved and seconded each purchase during the meeting; the transcript records the vendor names and dollar amounts for each line item. The purchases will proceed per procurement procedures and departmental guidance.
