The Select Board approved a set of temporary changes to precinct polling locations for the September 1, 2026, November 3, 2026, and April 13, 2027 elections, following staff tours of candidate locations and consultations with the town clerk.
Town staff described the recommended moves: Precincts A and B from the Center at The Heights to the former Hillside Elementary School; Precinct C from Newman Elementary to the former Hillside Elementary School; Precinct D from Newman Elementary to the Public Safety Building; and Precinct G from the Rosemary Recreation Complex to Town Hall. The town clerk (speaker 21) explained operational reasons — better circulation for voters, accessible entrances, parking and emergency planning — and said the Hillside facility could accommodate multiple precincts using several rooms.
Board members asked about temporary versus permanent status; staff said the recommendation covers the three listed elections and that the board will reassess after the fall and spring elections. The board voted to approve the relocations and directed staff to send comprehensive notice to voters and coordinate police detail and signage.
Next steps: Staff will mail notices and post guidance on voting locations and point people to the town clerk’s office for questions; the board requested outreach to minimize voter confusion.
