Pelican Rapids — The council approved a commercial rehabilitation grant application and the annual CEDA contract during its Oct. 29 meeting.
Jordan Gman told the council the EDA was awarded a $25,000 County CDA grant that, when matched locally, creates a $50,000 pool for downtown commercial-rehab grants. The Mason application for up to $5,000 matched grant funds was presented and approved by motion.
Lance presented the 2025 contract with CEDA, noting it is the same as the 2024 agreement with a 5% increase factored into the preliminary budget (2024 contract listed as $69,700; 2025 at $72,576 in meeting remarks). Council approved the contract by motion.
Next steps: staff will process the Mason grant award and submit the Houston Engineering invoice discussed later in the meeting to the DNR for reimbursement.
