The Paynesville City Council approved payment estimates for street and airport repairs and voted to proceed with a riverbank restoration project contingent on receiving grant funding.
Staff told the council that pay request No. 1 for the 2024 sealcoat project is in the packet for $221,950.63 payable to Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation (listed as Aztec/Aztech). Council moved and approved the payment estimate by voice vote. The council also approved a pay request for the airport crack-repair project presented in the packet (approximately $135,300) and approved that payment by voice vote.
On the North Fork Crow River (Lake Avenue) riverbank restoration, staff presented two quotes and recommended the low bid from Voss Plumbing (quoted in the packet at about $114,641). Staff said a Watershed-based grant is likely to cover roughly 75% of the project; if awarded, the city's portion was estimated at about $28,661 and would come from the street CIP. Public Works engineer Chuck described the work as stabilizing the slope with riprap, substituting riprap for a more costly bioengineering approach after prior grant applications were unsuccessful. Council approved proceeding with the Voss quote contingent on securing the grant. Council recorded voice votes for these items; the transcript contains no roll-call tallies.
