The Town of East Haddam Sustainability Team convened a special meeting on June 25 and approved the meeting agenda and amended May minutes before discussing ongoing projects and scheduling follow-up work.
The agenda was moved by Jay Forkner (S2) and seconded by the chair (name not stated). The motion carried with members recorded as saying "aye" (Jay, Tanya and Amalia); Jesse Scott’s verbal assent was not clearly captured on the recording. Later, Tanya Borgoin (S3) moved to approve the May minutes with spelling and attendance corrections; Jay Forkner (S2) seconded and the minutes were approved as amended.
Committee members discussed promotional support for a donation campaign and community match fund for youth-led cleanup activities (Superhero Training Corps), articles and outreach for the heritage market and native-plants programs, and volunteer needs for a Trex film recycling pilot. They also reviewed logistics and timelines for the Charging Smart program and set a next meeting date.
The chair noted the meeting lost quorum (Alan and Jesse left) and adjourned; the next meeting was scheduled for Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.
