Superintendent Mr. Kohagen briefed the Jesup Community School District board on construction progress and administrative items at the Oct. 13 meeting.
Kohagen said the construction check-off list is progressing and that Larson’s has “been great to work with.” He told board members a marketing video will be filmed Friday, Oct. 17, and that auditors were on site this past week to complete fieldwork; the final audit report is not expected until March 2026. Kohagen said branding items and signage will be placed throughout the district and that the administration will provide a future projects list after clarifying how much of the bond remains unspent.
Earlier in the meeting, staff reports included a presentation from Kara Backes about High School Employability Skills classes taught during homeroom and their connection to the district’s Portrait of a Graduate work. Tim Turnis provided an update on the ball field renovation project.
The board received these updates with no recorded change to the meeting agenda; follow-up includes producing a projects list tied to remaining bond funds and continuing to track the audit timeline.
