Kanawha council approves banners, sidewalks and street-patch contract; accepts Sheriff’s report

The Kanawha City Council authorized a series of local purchases and accepted a contractor bid during its April 14 meeting.
Council member Jessica Fowles moved to approve purchase of light pole banners for Main Street for up to $1,500; Chad Lang seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Fowles also moved approval of concrete and sidewalk repairs of up to $4,400, including the sidewalk in front of City Hall and on West 2nd Street; Phyllis Jordanger seconded and the motion passed.
Tim Lodin moved to accept the Pavement Doctor bid of $3,620 for street patching; Chad Lang seconded and the motion carried. The council then approved the Sheriff’s report on motion by Jordanger and second by Fowles. All procurement and approval actions were recorded as unanimous voice votes.
The council’s minutes list vendor names and amounts for the items approved; the clerk will include contracts and vendor information in the city’s procurement records.
