Jesup board approves budget-guarantee property-tax levy for 2026–27

The Jesup Community School District Board of Directors voted Jan. 12 to adopt a budget-guarantee resolution that authorizes the district to levy property taxes for fiscal year 2026–2027 for the regular program budget adjustment under section 257.14 of the Code of Iowa.
Director Miller moved to approve the resolution and Director Jung seconded; the board recorded the motion as carried with all members voting in favor. Vice President Youngblut presided over the meeting, which began at 6:00 p.m. in the district PreK–8 Media Center.
Superintendent Kohagen had earlier briefed the board on ongoing district business, including facility work from the bond project and program growth; the resolution itself was presented and approved without recorded amendments or conditions at the Jan. 12 meeting.
The board set its next regular meeting for Feb. 9, 2026. The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
