The Kensett City Council set the first public hearing on the upcoming fiscal year budget for April 6 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall and reviewed the treasurer's monthly report during its March 9 meeting.
The treasurer reported January revenues by fund as General $6,853.81, Utilities $7,548.03 and Special $3,378.63, for total revenues of $17,780.47. The minutes list payables and disbursements totaling $24,773.53 across funds; highlighted payables included Thofson Plumbing ($10,871.00), Alliant Energy ($3,545.85), Waste Management ($1,595.08) and payroll-related items including Federal & SS and IPERS.
Councilmember Kris Woltzen moved to approve the bills; Councilmember Brandee Cooper seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The minutes show disbursements by fund as General $2,515.61, Special $718.34, Utilities $15,446.77 and Payroll $6,092.81 (gross).
The council also confirmed it had submitted the annual budget to appropriate entities and will hold the public hearing on April 6 to receive public comment and consider adoption.
